Setria Glutathione Meets U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention Standards

by Angela Santoriello | June 16, 2014

Shown to fight stress and natural aging, Setria Glutathione officially meets the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) standards, according to manufacturer Kyowa Hakko USA Inc.

Dr. Danielle Citrolo, PharmD, registered pharmacist and technical services manager for Kyowa Hakko USA, said the USP dietary supplements compendium released the first monograph for glutathione.

“We were happy to see this standardization and we are happy to announce that Setria Glutathione meets the new compendia,” said Citrolo.

Called the “master antioxidant,” glutathione helps protect cells in the body from the damaging effects of oxidative stress and toxins, according to a press statement released by Kyowa Hakko Bio, which reports that by meeting the monograph, they are assisting manufacturers in their qualification process by establishing standards of ingredient identity, strength, quality, and purity.

They meet all mandated requirements by the USP, whose official mission statement is to “improve global health through public standards and related programs that help ensure the quality, safety and benefit of medicines and foods.”
