On Oct. 4, iHerb (Irvine, CA), a global health and wellness e-commerce platform, announced a partnership with cardiac surgeon, author and television personality, Dr. Mehmet Oz, who will serve as the company’s new global advisor.
As the global advisor, Dr. Oz will focus on educating people around the world on vitamins, minerals, supplements, skin treatments and nutritious foods.
“I have spent my life empowering people to take charge of their health,” Oz said. “Many of the preventative approaches include foods and supplements, so consumers need to trust the source of these products.”
iHerb said it hopes Oz will be able to break some of the social barriers surrounding vitamins and supplements.

Oz is a passionate advocate for verifying the source and efficacy of health products. He has consistently and adamantly shared his concerns over fraudulent supplements, iHerb said.
