OTA (Organic Trade Association) is hosting a 30-day social media #OrganicFestival in September. The aim is to bring the entire organic industry together to correct long-held myths and misconceptions about organic.
This will be the second annual social media festival where OTA and members engage one-on-one with consumers, media and influencers over a common theme to share and celebrate organic messages.
Last year, the 10-day festival amassed 109 million consumer impressions and 100 members participating. This year, OTA anticipates the myth-busting campaign to reach higher numbers.
“We’ve all seen the misleading headlines that organic can’t feed the world and that it’s not worth the cost, and it’s time that we present the facts!” OTA’s website stated.
The five-week event will feature a Twitter Party once a week co-hosted by an expert familiar with the week’s myth. There will be activities held at special events during the month, including Expo East in Baltimore, MD.
According to OTA, there is no fee to participate and all are welcome to join. The event began September 1 and will run through the end of the month.
