On Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, the American Botanical Council (ABC), based in Austin, TX, will host a free webinar on changing leadership and brand transitions from 2 to 3 p.m.

When brands change ownership or leadership, there is often “uncertainty and fear” from customers about what will happen to the original vision, integrity and products of the company, ABC said.

The webinar, titled Changing Ownership and Leadership: Protecting the Vision and Essence of a Brand Through Growth and Transition, will feature a conversation between Marc Allen, the previous CEO of Herb Pharm and Daniel Marple, the current CEO of Herb Pharm.

During the webinar, Allen and Marple will discuss the various changes Herb Pharm (Williams, OR) underwent since its founders, Ed Smith and Sara Katz, sold the company.

Allen and Marple will discuss topics, such as the founders’ expectations for future owners and executives, what has been done to grow the company, challenges of the transition and insights for other companies facing similar circumstances.
