Expo West will feature education sessions, workshops and events, including a presentation by Jason Sapsin and Ivan Wasserman “What is ‘Natural’: Dissecting Public Commentary to the FDA, and key note speakers, Martha Rogers, Samuel Kass and Erik Weihenmayer.

On Thursday, Rogers, will discuss “Trustability” in the Health Food and Supplements Industry, focusing on why it is suddenly imperative and what to do about it.

The AHPA Annual Member Meeting and breakfast will be held on Thursday, March 10 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. featuring Senator Harkin.

Kass, former personal chef to President Obama at the White House and executive director of First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” campaign, and senior White House policy advisor for nutrition policy, will give his keynote-talk on Friday.

Weihenmayer, the only blind person in history to climb Mount Everest and founder of the organization No Barriers, will bring his message of living a No Barriers Life to the show on Saturday. No Barriers helps people with challenges tap into the human spirit, break through barriers, and contribute to the world. No Barriers will be celebrating their 10^th anniversary of their Everest ascent.

No Barriers won’t be the only ones celebrating anniversaries. Pines International, Inc. celebrates 40 years in business at Expo West. Since 1976, the original wheat grass company, with it’s “Keep It Simple, Keep It Clean, Keep it Green!” motto, invites attendees to visit them at their booth (#1953).

Mushroom Wisdom will be celebrating 25 years during the show. The company is giving out special anniversary discounts and giveaways, and will be introducing a new product: Super Poria at booth 1733. The company will also host a Japanese Breakfast and Anniversary Celebration at 8 a.m. on Saturday March 12 at the Sheraton Hotel, Park Ballroom. The breakfast will be accompanied by a talk, Hello Kidney, Let Me Introduce You to Poria, and will be presented by Sensuke Konno, PhD, Depart of Urology, NY Medical College.

In addition to Mushroom Wisdom, Bluebonnet will also be celebrating 25 years in business.
