Throughout April, Eco Lips will donate a portion of the sales proceeds of its new Eco Lips Plant Pods to environmental non-profit organization Trees Forever. Trees will be planted in areas affected by 2020’s derecho windstorms.
Introduced in February, Eco Lips’ Plant Pods are the first-ever environmentally sustainable lip balm tubes made entirely from plants and looks, feels and functions like a plastic tube.
Trees Forever’s mission is to plant and care for trees and the environment by empowering people, building communities and promoting stewardship.
Both organizations are based in Iowa, where many of these trees will be planted almost literally in Eco Lips’ back yard – as the greater Cedar Rapids area lost half of its tree population during last year’s derecho.
“Through this campaign that we call Plant One!, we’re truly closing a circle of virtue,” said Steve Shriver, founder and CEO of Eco Lips. “Our containers come from plants, and when you purchase Plant Pod, a new plant emerges. We’re excited for this special partnership!”
“At Trees Forever we are thrilled to receive support for tree planting from Eco-lips and the sales of Plant Pods,” said Shannon Ramsay, founding president and CEO of Trees Forever. “We are proud to be partners with such a visionary company that values carefully sourced products, all benefiting our environment.”
