Carotech to Share Human Clinical Studies at IHS

by Angela Santoriello | September 2, 2014

Carotech Inc. (Edison, NJ) announced it will exhibit new human clinical studies with Tocomin SupraBio on brain protection and cognitive support at the upcoming Integrative Healthcare Symposium in Florida.

The two-day conference will gather medical doctors, naturopaths, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, researchers, educators and other integrative practitioners to learn from experts about the latest research on brain health and treatment protocols related to brain diseases and disorders.

Carotech will showcase its GRAS, Non-GMO Project verified and clinically-research branded ingredient, Tocomin SupraBio, a patented and bioenhanced natural full spectrum palm tocotrienol complex for brain health/cognitive support. The company reported the ingredient has been shown in human studies to effectively deliver tocotrienols to vital human organs, including the brain.

A double-blind and placebo-controlled clinical trial in the peer-reviewed journal of the American Heart Association, STROKE , showed the effectiveness of oral supplementation of Tocomin SupraBio in attenuating the progression of white matter lesions (WMLs).

“Studies have shown that WML is linked to increased stroke risk as well as other neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, which can result in enormous social-economical costs. Thus, it is important to minimize the progression of WMLs through the help of this effective yet natural vitamin E tocotrienol,” said Bryan See, regional product manager, Carotech.

See said the company is proud of this significant breakthrough of Tocomin SupraBio research for brain health.

“Researchers in the United States and Malaysia have been studying the brain protective effect of tocotrienol  in in-vitro and in-vivo models. This ground breaking study provides conclusive evidence of Tocomin SupraBio in supporting brain health. I look forward to sharing these new clinical results and other neuroprotection studies with attendees of this symposium,” said See.

The symposium is Sept. 19-20, 2014 at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa, Hollywood, FL.
