Publisher A health foods industry journalist since 1984, Dan was the Editor and Associate Publisher of Whole Foods magazine prior to founding VRM, and has been in business magazine publishing since 1980. Dan has reported extensively about the health and natural products industry. He is a 1980 graduate of Rutgers University with a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism and Political Science.

Russ Fields (732) 432-9600 x102 RussF@vitaminretailer.com	Associate Publisher Russ works in the area of advertising sales. Prior to joining VRM Russ was the publisher of Health Products Business magazine. He has been in the publishing business since 1988.

Roy Kieffer (719) 358-9838 RoyK@vitaminretailer.com	Advertising Sales Manager Based in VRM's West Coast sales office located in Colorado, Roy has primary responsibility for accounts located in the West, Southwest and Rocky Mountain regions. Prior to joining VRM, he was National Sales Director for KC Publications, a publisher of books and calendars.

Gary Pfaff (732) 432-9600 x107 GaryP@vitaminretailer.com	Advertising Sales Associate Gary joined the VRM advertising sales team in 2012. He has worked in the media/advertising industry since 2003. Prior to joining VRM, he had worked for such companies as Kates-Boylston and McGraw-Hill.

Kate Quackenbush (732) 432-9600 x103 KateQ@vitaminretailer.com	Editor-in-Chief A trade magazine veteran, Kate Quackenbush was the managing editor for Convenience Store Decisions, a Penton Media publication for convenience store decision makers, covering the industry for seven years. Prior to that she worked in medical textbook publishing for Thorofare, NJ-based SLACK, Inc. Kate graduated from Rowan University with a B.A. in English and a Creative Writing Concentration, and has written freelance articles for Inside Cherry Hill, Inside Evesham and Rockpile magazine, as well as pamphlets for the Multiple Sclerosis Association.

Janet Poveromo (732) 432-9600 x104 JanetP@vitaminretailer.com	Managing Editor Prior to joining VRM, Janet was a freelancer for The Star-Ledger, New Jersey’s largest newspaper. Her professional experience includes working as a writer for Dorf Feature Service, a news organization for The Star-Ledger. While there she covered municipal government and community news. She has a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.

Shari Barbanel (732) 432-9600 x108 ShariB@vitaminretailer.com	Associate Editor Shari is a graduate of Indiana University, where she received her degree in journalism and communications and culture. She previously worked as a marketing/editorial coordinator for Danthan Military Distributors and was an editorial/advertising coordinator for Unique Homes Magazine, a luxury real estate publication. Shari was assistant editor of Getaway Magazine, a health and fitness publication at Indiana University, and interned in the editorial department at Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

Carolyn Steber (732) 432-9600 x105 CarolynS@vitaminretailer.com	Assistant Editor Carolyn is a graduate of The College of New Jersey, where she majored in journalism and professional writing. While in school, she interned at Health magazine. After graduating she wrote for the women’s health web site Blisstree.com. She then went on to do freelance reporting and photography for Princeton Patch.com before joining Community News Service as a reporter and web editor. She will now be writing, editing and handling administrative tasks for our magazines.

Meg Knight (732) 432-9600 x101 MegK@vitaminretailer.com	Art Director/Production Manager Meg is responsible for the design and production of our magazines. She has over 15+ years in advertising/marketing/publishing design. Prior to joining VRM, she was an Art Director for 2 B2B magazines, Today’s Facility Manager & Business Facilities. Meg’s passion is in designing front covers and overall editorial design. She loves the whole process of magazine publishing, and enjoys seeing the final printed piece come to life.


Megan Conway (732) 432-9600 x106 MeganC@vitaminretailer.com	Assistant Art Director/Production Manager Megan assists with the design and production of our magazines, maintains the company's websites and manages our e-marketing. Prior to joining VRM she was a graphic designer at The Asbury Park Press, and a production artist at Hobby Publications. She has a Bachelor's degree in graphic design from William Paterson University.
